Street Work
Once common across class, race, age and income, smoking is now widely reviled; indoor smoking is banned nearly everywhere and outdoor use heavily restricted.
When I was in elementary school, I watched Lost Horizon with other kids in a Florida hotel utility room while our parents went on dates and bored staff kept us from bothering the guests.
Fiction
The line where the images meet becomes the seam between fact and fiction, reality and longing, and the universal and the personal.

The Inside Dog Barks The Loudest
The idea of the inside dog intrigues because it’s both obvious and elusive. How can I be myself while standing outside myself looking in? Why don’t I understand more about the person I know best, myself?
Drawing My Way Home
This ongoing project, Drawing My May Home, is about standing at mid-life, trying to chip through the wall of forgetfulness erected by time and circumstance to confront the past and make peace with what might have been.
Contained and Consumed
Styrofoam, plastic, and cardboard can be molded into infinite types of protective shapes. I sometimes appreciate Styrofoam and mesh as objects in their own right.
